Yves Normandin is a leading authority in speech recognition technology and interactive voice response systems, with over 20 years of experience in the field spanning research, as well as product and application development. Before founding Nu Echo in 2002, he had been the founder and CTO of Locus Dialogue, a Montreal-based company (now part of Nuance communications) that developed advanced multilingual speech recognition technology and applications for the telephony market, with technology and products installed in over 1,000 customer sites in America and Europe. Prior to founding LocusDialog, he had spent ten years leading the speech recognition research group at CRIM (Computer Research Institute of Montreal), building it from the ground up into one of the most highly respected research groups internationally in the field. He holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in speech recognition from McGill University.
