More information about Aaron Akerman
Aaron is a native Montrealer with 20 years of finacial and management experience. He began his career at Arthur Andersen but after a few years jumped into the world of technology by joining Discreet Logic as its Controller. Discreet was a Montreal-based NASDAQ listed software company that was ultimately acquired by Autodesk. Subsequently, Aaron worked at a number of tech companies including Conceptis (acquired by WebMD), Hyperchip, and OZ Communications (acquired by Nokia in Nov 2008). Over his career, he has raised over $150M in financing from multiple sources and has participated in over a dozen M&A transactions. He is a CA and CFA. In 2002, he and Petra took a year off to travel around the world, and later married and now have four wonderful children together. He enjoys running marathons and skiing in the winter.
