Job Openings: Playerize seeking 2 PHP Developers

January 5, 2012 at 1:10 am

Two positions are open, one in Montreal and one in Vancouver:

Playerize is VC-funded startup living in the space where Social Games, Commerce, and Marketing meet.

Playerize (the social and mobile game growth company) is hunting for a full-time developer for a diverse set of web projects including websites, dashboards, API creation, and even game platforms! We’re tackling huge opportunities in a very fast-moving industry, and this is a great opportunity for you to dive in and influence everything we do.

Here’s what we need:

The functional:
- You have plenty of experience cranking out projects in PHP. You organize your projects so that they can be worked on by others, and you use templating and string tables where needed.
- You know SQL, and can create and query tables in MySQL. You’re not afraid of joins, and you wield indexes like they’re your useful little bitches.
- You use source control so smoothly and frequently that it’s like breathing.
- You love to fill a task manager with your todos and then spend the day demolishing them in order of priority.
- If you (in addition to PHP) can do these, then we will throw you parties: Javascript, JQuery, Drupal modules, Facebook API.
- You can optimize bubblesort for a double-linked list of pointers with paper and pen. (KIDDING. Please don’t send code samples of compiler optimization. We’d rather see your drupal module)

The person (that’s you!):
- You enjoy beer and laughing. (Exceptions made for other types of cocktails, but not for the laughter part)
- You are happy having ownership and control of a project. We are a small team, and while we work to a high standard we will not be over-managing with specs.
- You are not afraid of a chocolate lab.

What you can expect:
- Fast growth, we plan to hire 5-10 people in the next three months.
- Gastown office
- Flexible hours, with some opportunity to work from home

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished to date, but there’s a lot more work to do and we’re dedicating to achieving the results we’re aiming for. We need help to do this!

Email us at jobs@playerize.com to fill us in on your experience and passions, and let us know how you will kick serious ass at this and how you will work with us to drive our success.
